Welcome Zachary Evans Booker

We welcomed Zachary Evans Booker into our family on May 26th at 5:58pm. He weighed 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. The whole Booker family is adjusting well. Last week we have had a fair amount of sleepless nights (NOT Hadley thank god) and I was FINALLY feeling myself yesterday. Our little peanut is adorable and Hadley is LOVING being a big sister. She is EVERYWHERE I am when tending to him, diapers, feeding, etc. Kali hasn't paid him any mind. I think she is annoyed she has been displaced once again. I had a BRUTAL labor this time around but uneventful delivery. I have decided that this is a better order than my last which was BRUTAL Delivery and labor was fine. I was back on my feet cooking dinner when we got home on Saturday. Took me a few weeks last time around.

I can only seem to get my act together to do this every so often. So for the month of April we were very busy. Not to mention Baby Boy is coming right around the corner. So this past month Price and I took a last hoorah trip and went to Miami for the weekend alone. Hadley stayed with Mimi and PopPop while we were gone. We had a great relaxing short vacation. It was so nice. The following weekend Jenny Jennings and Becky Riebesehl threw Page Dezee and I a baby "sprinkle". It was so great. Page and I are due 3 weeks apart so it was a joint party. Close friends and family came. It was perfect. The next weekend was Easter and we headed to Rehoboth for the weekend. We did an Easter Egg hunt in Dewey on Saturday which Hadley loved. It was a bit chilly that day. Then on actual Easter it was absolutely gorgeous. We dyed Easter Eggs, had a fabulous brunch (Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Juevos Rancheros) and then got to sit on the beach. Perfect weekend. Last Friday Hadley and I drove to Lancaster and did our day of flower shopping with the ladies. WE had a blast as always and left with too many plants and lots of chocolate. Saturday we planted in the yard from 9-5 with a short lunch break and then Becky, Mark and Baby Will stayed with us Sat night. We had a great time. Sunday we had Jenny, Larry, Jon, Page, Matt, and Patrick up as well. The boys went to golf and we entertained the kids. It was a fun weekend.

A Whole Month Gone by

Best Friends
New Playhouse built April 2
The Men at work
St. Pattys Day weekend in Rehoboth
St. Pattys Day
First weekend in March when Laura was in town in Bmore
Hadley practicing with Baby Quinn

So a whole month has gone by since I have posted last. I am really getting bad at this. Its not that I am lazy, its that we have been so insanely busy we can barely breath! This was our first weekend home with no plans since I can remember and also for the foreseeable future. In March we had a very busy month. We did go to the beach the weekend after St. Patty's Day (Pop Pop's bday) and the weather was gorgeous so we actually got to sit on the beach that Friday. We had Maureen's going away/engagement party in Arlington last weekend and I can't remember what happened the beginning of the month. I am currently 30.5 weeks prego. Not much more to go. I am ready to be done this time. Missing my wine MUCH more than last time and experiencing more discomforts. For the most part, I can't complain and I have had pretty easy pregnancies. Doctors are saying they prob. won't let me go past 39 weeks so might "get things going" at my 38 week apt. and schedule me for an induction. That is what they did with Hadley and I had her exactly at 39 weeks which ended up happening naturally before my scheduled induction. That means this might be an end of May baby boy. So..we will see. My bp corrected itself again at 20 weeks this pregnancy so have been off of my medication since then. We had a sono at 30 weeks and will get one more at 34 weeks just to make sure his growth is still on track. That will make 6 sonos I have already had and one more. We love to get to see little man so its fun. At the last apt. the sonographer told us he already has some hair but he didn't want to show us his face at all. He kept both hands over. At one point he did give us the peace sign. This weekend we had an exciting project of building Hadley a new playhouse. I figured since we will be home, or I will all summer this will be something fun for her. She LOVES pretending and I think and hope she will enjoy it for years to come. Price was very clever and made a floor for it so we could raise it off the ground a bit and Jeff came over last night and today to help finish it. Hadley was bouncing off the walls when she saw it. The doorbell actually rings and we put a chair inside. I am sure all sorts of stuff will end up inside, but for now, just a chair. Next weekend Price and I will head to Miami for one last getaway before we become a family of 4 and these things become more difficult. Mimi and PopPop Brown will come and watch Hads for the weekend. We are looking forward to just relaxing. I hope I don't scare everyone at the pool or beach away but they will just have to deal. THis post i getting long so I will post some pics of the past month. Happy Spring!

End of February

Davis, West Virginia

Shea and Hadley at Disney Priness on Ice (Feb 11)
24 weeks pregnant (Feb 15)

We have had an exciting 2 weeks. Since my last post, Hadley STILL has been using the potty most of the time. She has not had a "DIRTY" diaper since that weekend at the beach which was over 2 weeks ago. We are so proud of our little lady. She wore some big girl princess undies for 4 hours and was great. We spend most of our time in pull ups now. We haven't even begun to tackle night time. Since this all came unexpectedly, we are not there yet. We had our first long road trip with a kid that wants to be potty trained so we toured LOTS of public restrooms between Annapolis and West Virginia (scary). We tried to pick nice places and used lot of antibacterial wipes. Price and I kept telling her to just go in her diaper, but she refused. WE had 3 #2 false alarms so it made for a long trip. But...we had to stay positive and give lots of praise. We were on our way to Brother and Sis in Laws new cabin at Timberline and Caanan Valley resort. Price got to ski all weekend while I spent lots of quality time with kali and Hads. The new cabin is awesome and we will have lots of fun memories going forward. Other than that, I am 25 weeks pregnant now and everything is going great. I am getting huge and our little man is EXTREMELY active. I thought Hadley was but pretty sure he puts her to shame. Anyway, we are ready for winter to be over and have this warmer weather that teased us on Friday, stay for good. I am posting pics from the past few weeks.

Exciting Times

Watching the Polar Bear Plunge from Daddy's shoulders

New Shades
Hanging out with PopPop in Mommy's shirt from when she was little
Making brownies with Mimi

So we have had a few exciting times lately, with the transition to the big bed and Hadley turning BACK into the super sweet girl we knew before she turned 2. I am SOO glad that we have our sweet lovable girl back before her little brother comes in 4 months. The most exciting events of the past week are that over the weekend when we were at the beach she, on her own, decided to go to the potty all weekend. We did not ask, push, or in any way try and get her to do this so it was VERY exciting that she chose this on her own. She does now know that she either gets some smarties or M&M's when she is done as a reward. I think I might have only changed one dirty diaper all weekend, if that!! SO exciting. We are very proud of her. She is not quite ready for all the new fun princess underwear we got but soon enough. I did do my first order of pull ups so we will see how that goes. She really has no fear of the big potty but also enjoys sitting on her own. She has been spending LOTS of time on the potty the past 5 days. Keep your fingers crossed that this is the beginning of the end and I MIGHT only have one child in diapers at a time. Next week marks the 6 month of pregnancy and we will have one last sonogram. I have posted a few pictures from our weekend at the beach.

Few exciting things for end of January

Hads new big girl bed
Snow ice cream
My belly
complete!
Making snowman
First fall in snow
Hadley was obsessed with George and Hershel
Morgan, Hads and I at Piedmont Park
Hads, Heather, Me, Julie and Mo at Julies shower
On the airplane at 6:30am

Hadley and I traveled together to Atlanta to visit some of my girlfriends. Julie is having a baby the end of February so Heather hosted the baby shower. Hadley was an AWESOME travel partner. She listened to everything I said and cooperated. I was very proud of her. Price's Ipad was a fabulous addition and distraction for her so we are very glad we brought it along. While we were there we stayed with Heather but Maureen flew down as well and we visited with Julie's family and also had some time with Morgan while there. It was a great weekend. I have posted a few pics from our trip. We also had our first measurable snow. It was super wet so we made our first snowman. Hadley loved it. Lastly we ended the month with building Hadley's new big girl bed. Its awesome and so far she loves it!! We were having some sleeping issues last week so the new bed came at the perfect time. Plus, it sure makes reading at bedtime better. Kali is enjoying the end of the new bed as well. Overall was a very exciting month. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and this is sure flying by. I will try to be better about belly pics soon.

Halfway There

These are always creepy
He looks thinner than Hadley did.

The boy part.

Profile

Already 20 weeks along with Baby Booker#2. Can't believe how quickly time is flying this time. I guess having a toddler around certainly fills any spare time we have. I thought I would post a few pics of this weeks sonogram. I get one more at 24 weeks and if all is good then prob won't get another and we will just have to wait to meet little man. Hadley is very excited about her baby brother and kisses, hugs and rubs my belly a lot. That will prob. all change down the road but for now she likes being a big sister to something inside of me.
