Hadley (6 weeks) Grayson (2 weeks)

We are officially in the holiday spirit! We had our first holiday party at Jon Jennings house this past weekend and took our little bundle of joy with us to make an appearance wearing her Mrs. Claus outfit. Was very fun getting a pair of tights on a 6 week old but the photos made it all worth it! Friday night we made a trip to Chris and Alyssa Clopton's to meet baby Grayson. We welcome Grayson Ellis Clopton on Dec. 8th weighing in at 8lbs 4 oz and 21.5 inches long. We did our first photo shoot with the kids in their onsies. I have posted some of the shots. Sunday cousin Tom and Woofie came up to Baltimore to celebrate some as well. Tom brought Hadley a platipus from Australia. Don't come by those too often! THANKS TOM! I will probably not post again until after Christmas so everyone have a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!!!

Time flies!

Jeff visiting and the Christmas bear they gave her.

Hadley's first tree. Walk with boyfriend Connor.

Hadley's One Month Bday shot!

I have been lazy lately and haven't posted in a few weeks. Hadley was 5 weeks this past Friday. Its hard to believe how quickly the time is going AND how quickly Christmas snuck up on us. I did get my cards out finally (as you all should be getting them) but took me a bit longer. I did decide not to bombard all of you with mail and didn't do separate birth announcements. Just one card. Hadley had her one month doctors apt. a week ago yesterday and she was up to 8.9 lbs. I can only imagine she is even bigger now. I did put one of her newborn fleece suits on today (the one she wore home) and the sleeves are a bit short so she is definitely growing. WE have seen LOTS Of smiles this week but they are very random and not sure she knows she is doing them. I will have to become an expert with the camera and try to capture them. I will do some photo shoots of her in xmas gear, maybe this afternooon, but for now I will just post a few pics. One from her one month birthday, our little Christmas tree and a few others. Hope everyone has a FABULOUS Christmas. We have a very busy few weeks coming up but can't wait to see many of you.

Almost a month under our belts!

Thanksgiving Day

We have almost made it a month! I can't believe how quickly the time has been flying. We are still doing quite well and Hadley has become a nice addition to the family. We still have our occasional pretty rough day and night but I think that will be the case for the next 18 years. Thanksgiving was a wonderful day. All the grandparents were here in Baltimore with us in our little row house and we seemed to make it all work. Price grilled a 16 lb. bird and a separate breast so we were sure to have leftovers for sandwiches. Our menu was a new green bean recipe that was delicious as well as mac n cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed regular potatoes, stuffing, canned cranberries and then Grammy's cranberry relish recipe. Everything turned out perfect and we only ate 30 min. later than we had expected. Dad poured some delicious wines and then later that evening we had apple and pumpkin pies. Friday was Price's 31st birthday. Mom stayed up here and watched Hadley while Price and I went out for a beer and then met some friends at the local duckpin bowling alley for Price to roll a few bones. It was a great night out but we were tired the next day. Hard to stay up that late now, especially since you have to stretch it for the next feeding. Saturday we got all packed up and Mom, and the Booker crew headed to Northern Va for 2 nights. Was our first road trip with everyone, dog, baby, etc. We did quite well. Once in Nova we had a whirlwind weekend for Hadley to meet lots of her friends. She met both sets of Gallaghers, Laura and her parents, Jon and Jenny, and SUnday all her little baby buddies (Sam, Elly and Connor) as well as Alex who was home from Australia. Was a fun time but we were quite wiped even still today. Thanks everyone for such a wonderful first Thanksgiving weeknd for Hadley!

We survived 2 weeks!

Hadley and Sam (2 weeks and a day and 7 mos, 29 days)

Our walk in the park (2 weeks 3 days) Who is Hadley starting to look like??

We made it through our first two weeks with Hadley. We really seem to be in a good routine and are settling in quite nicely. I have posted some new pictures. We had our first boyfriend visit from Sam and Jessica. Sam was great with little Hadley. Price gave her a lecture on boys before Sam arrived on Saturday. Ha. Today Hadley, Kali and I took our first walk. I am feeling almost back to normal and decided to venture out. We went to the park near our house and took a 30 min. walk. Was a good start for me to get back into the exercise routine. Doc said I could start whenever I Felt back up to it and didn't need to wait the full 6 weeks. I am glad because it is nice to get out of the house some. I left Hadley with Price for about 2 and a half hours yesterday and headed to Costco and Walmart. Two of the worst places on earth, especially the Sunday before Thanksgiving. But..it did get me out so that was nice!! THis week we will be hosting all the grandparents for Thanksgiving then thinking of heading to NOVA on Saturday so Price can go to the Skins game Sunday and ride with folks from down there. His big 31 bday is Friday so this will be part of his celebration!

10 Days!

Sleeping like frankenstein (12 days old)

First bath (11 days old)
We have now been home with our newest addition for a whopping 10 days! Things are going pretty well. Good news is its been so chilly outside that I don't mind being cooped up in the house. Mom did come up yesterday to watch Hadley while I headed back to doc for a quick follow up visit. It was nice to get out of the house alone for a bit as afterwards I ran to Whole Foods to grab us lunch and get some dinner for Price and I and also went wine shopping! Boy I missed that~ although our budget did not! It sure is nice to have a small glass with dinner again! We are doing quite well. Seem to have settled into a nice routine now. Hadley did have a bad night on Monday but she had her 2nd doc. apt that morning and I think it was quite a traumatic event for her. Between the heel stick and the cleaning up of her belly button she did a fair amount of crying while there. I think it exhausted her so she slept most of the day which led to a restless night. Good news is last night was much better. I am not sure what to expect this evening as she has been out for a good portion of the afternoon. Didn't help that Price came home and 2:15 and before he left for Annapolis at 4 he laid down with her on his chest and they both napped for a while, as did the dog. Not sure why I didn't rest my eyes too. Oh well. I will post a few pictures of her from the past week. I can't wait to see how she changes and developes. We know that she has Price's ears, my nose and mouth, and I think possibly Price's feet which is a shame cuz I do love my feet!! I attempted to give her a bath yesterday since the pediatrician said I should wash her hair. Not sure if that meant it looked dirty or if she wanted me to get her head damp because of the little mark on the back of it from the delivery. Needless to say, was a tricky one man job but we succeeded. Then her hair was totally wacky for the rest of the day. Oh well. She is doing great after her doc visit and everything looks perfect! This has started off as an amazing journey! Thanks to Sam and Elly for the shout outs on your blogs!!! Can't wait for them to meet Hadley.

One Week Down!

Chris and Alyssa and soon to be Baby Clopton came over( 8 days old), Family photo on Abby Bday (5days old), Kerry McCarthy visited me a few times (8 days old)

Hokie Game (6 days old), Skins Game (9 days old)

So we have survived our first week home with Hadley. Mom was here to help out from Sunday thru Thursday of this past week. We couldn't have done it without her help. THANKS MOM!! Dad was up and back a few times too to visit and he was good at supervising her on the couch and running out to pick us up food and beer when needed as well as open delicious bottles of wine. We celebrated my 31st bday on Wednesday with the whole Brown family. I was a bit tired and exhausted so was quite different from birthdays past. The first few nights were really tough but we are slowly settling into a routine that seems to be working. Our little lady seems to be quite the night owl from about 9-1am. I am watching a lot of late night TV. That is when she was really active while I was carrying her too. Doctors said it will take some time to get her off of that schedule. She had her first pediatrician apt last Monday and it went well. She lost the normal 10% of body weight so hoping when we go tomorrow she will have put some of that back on. She got all dressed up for her first Hokie game ( I was in labor during the last one) on Thursday night and she is all geared up for the Skins vs. Dallas game tonight. Our little lady should be used to Price yelling at the tv and being at the Skins games so she tolerates noise quite well. Soon we can get her a bit more girly outfits. We are making do right now with the gear we have. I thought her Redskins onesie would fit but its too big :( Maybe for the tail end of the season. THANK YOU TO ALL FOR THE FABULOUS GIFTS AND FLOWERS! I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!

She's Here!!!

Hadley Fields Booker made her arrival on the first day of my 39th week. She is our lucky little lady and was born in room 7, on November 7th and weighed in at 7lbs, 7oz. She arrived at 11:45 am. We went to hospital the night before at 10pm. Good news is we got to catch the 4th quarter of the VT game. Great distraction for contractions! Then, since we were awake all night, we got to watch the ENTIRE replay of the VT game at 3am. Good stuff! I am glad the Hokies could keep us sane. Once she made her appearance, we were all wiped, in fact, the most wiped we have ever been in our lives, not to mention I had not had dinner the night before so I was starving. Uncle Mel, Uncle Joe and all the Grandparents came to visit all of us in the hospital. She is a perfect little girl and was born with a full head of dark brown hair. So wild!! She has been wonderful! I can't really believe its all over. We got discharged yesterday November 9th. Things have been ok since we have been home, just lacking in sleep. My mom and dad are up and have been and helping us out. It has been a HUGE help. We had our first pediatrician apt. today and it went great. I am going to go get some rest and just post a few pictures for now, but promise to put more on later.

38 Weeks

Just a brief post about the latest happenings at the Booker household. Good news is that since the economy is so crappy, our new business is having its best month ever! Its going so great! Quiznos is still hanging in there as well.
Bad news is I was put on bed rest on Tuesday. I was 38 weeks pregnant yesterday so just two more weeks until my due date. My blood pressure (which most of you know was high and I was medicated prior to pregnancy) has corrected itself during this time but finally started to climb. I am and have been being seen in the high risk department at Johns Hopkins so they are taking extra precautions with me and put me on the rest. I did ask how strict this rest was and they told me I could go out to dinner once a week and just to avoid going up and down the stairs 700 times, which is hard in a little row house with 3 levels. They also want me laying around a lot on my left side. GOOD TIMES! Soon I might have a hole in my left hip! OH well, maybe she will make her appearance early so I won't have to do this for a full 2-3 weeks. Price and I decided to use our 1 dinner last night since it was Halloween and in the city Halloween brings on some cuties and some scaries, for real scaries. So...off to our favorite Thai restaurant. Its BYOB so Price brought the rest of a bottle of wine and enjoyed that. It was a nice evening. Just wanted to update the latest and greatest of the Booker happenings.

37 weeks!

So here we are! The home stretch. Just 3 more weeks to go from today until my due date! I made it to the 4 home Redskins games that I had planned. That was my goal. I have posted a few pics from my last game. We went out with a bang and a stellar tailgate! I will miss all of my tailgating buddies for the rest of the season! I will be back next year with Baby Booker in the Baby Bjorn and her lap pass. She will be ready! Other than that we have been super busy with other baby showers, getting the house totally ready, etc. I think we are as ready as we will be and she can arrive at any time. I would LIKE her to wait a few weeks so keep your fingers crossed. As Price says, "I want her to marinate some more".

Beach Weekend

2 Pregos and dogs , Alyssa and I , Price and Chris

Since my shower we have been staying as busy as ever which is making the time before Baby's arrival fly! This coming Friday I will be 35 weeks along and don't have much free time left. Pretty crazy! I feel like the pregnancy went so quickly and for the most part I have had a great experience. I am not sleeping to save my life now, but guess preparing my body for what is to come which is LACK OF SLEEP!! We had a FABULOUS weekend at Rehoboth October 3-6th. It was sidewalk sale weekend which is my favorite of the year. They also did the first annual Oktoberfest. The weather was gorgeous and we did lots of shopping, eating, football watching, dog playing, etc. Chris and Alyssa came with us and brought Kali's boyfriend Murphy. The two dogs had a fabulous time together and were both exhausted and depressed on Monday. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Baby Shower

The Diaper cake and college roomies, missing Al of course because she is in Australia!

Me and Alyssa at Redskins game. Hard to find maternity Skins' gear.

My friends and family threw me a wonderful beach themed baby shower last weekend and it was phenomenal. It couldn't have been a more perfect day! Baby Booker is one lucky girl and has more clothes, books, and "stuff" than she will ever need...OR..we will change her clothes 4 times a day and make sure that everyone gets to see all of her cute clothes. She also went to her first home Redskins game on Sunday with her soon to be Baby Clopton boyfriend close beside in his mommy's belly too. What a great action packed weekend! We were exhausted on Sunday night into Monday but it was all worth it!

Some pictures from 29-31 weeks.

29 weeks ...... 31 weeks What a difference!

Sunset behind mom and day, sunrise the next am.

Laura and I

We spend Labor Day weekend at the beach and had a fabulous time! We went out to a wonderful dinner for our 5 year anniversary at Venus on the Half Shell in Dewey beach. The sunset was just amazing. Baby is making it very difficult for me to get a good nights rest these days so Kali and I have been getting up very early and bonding as well as catching some awesome sunrises.

Sailing in Annapolis

Hiking in Canada

We are still enjoying our time before baby and trying to make the most of it. Two weekends ago we went out sailing on one of our clients 47 foot sailboats out of Annapolis. It was amazing! Perfect weather and gorgeous boat. I left that Sunday morning for Mt. Tremblant Canada for a huge meeting that I planned. Here are a few pics from both places. My belly is getting huge!
