We survived 2 weeks!

Hadley and Sam (2 weeks and a day and 7 mos, 29 days)

Our walk in the park (2 weeks 3 days) Who is Hadley starting to look like??

We made it through our first two weeks with Hadley. We really seem to be in a good routine and are settling in quite nicely. I have posted some new pictures. We had our first boyfriend visit from Sam and Jessica. Sam was great with little Hadley. Price gave her a lecture on boys before Sam arrived on Saturday. Ha. Today Hadley, Kali and I took our first walk. I am feeling almost back to normal and decided to venture out. We went to the park near our house and took a 30 min. walk. Was a good start for me to get back into the exercise routine. Doc said I could start whenever I Felt back up to it and didn't need to wait the full 6 weeks. I am glad because it is nice to get out of the house some. I left Hadley with Price for about 2 and a half hours yesterday and headed to Costco and Walmart. Two of the worst places on earth, especially the Sunday before Thanksgiving. But..it did get me out so that was nice!! THis week we will be hosting all the grandparents for Thanksgiving then thinking of heading to NOVA on Saturday so Price can go to the Skins game Sunday and ride with folks from down there. His big 31 bday is Friday so this will be part of his celebration!

10 Days!

Sleeping like frankenstein (12 days old)

First bath (11 days old)
We have now been home with our newest addition for a whopping 10 days! Things are going pretty well. Good news is its been so chilly outside that I don't mind being cooped up in the house. Mom did come up yesterday to watch Hadley while I headed back to doc for a quick follow up visit. It was nice to get out of the house alone for a bit as afterwards I ran to Whole Foods to grab us lunch and get some dinner for Price and I and also went wine shopping! Boy I missed that~ although our budget did not! It sure is nice to have a small glass with dinner again! We are doing quite well. Seem to have settled into a nice routine now. Hadley did have a bad night on Monday but she had her 2nd doc. apt that morning and I think it was quite a traumatic event for her. Between the heel stick and the cleaning up of her belly button she did a fair amount of crying while there. I think it exhausted her so she slept most of the day which led to a restless night. Good news is last night was much better. I am not sure what to expect this evening as she has been out for a good portion of the afternoon. Didn't help that Price came home and 2:15 and before he left for Annapolis at 4 he laid down with her on his chest and they both napped for a while, as did the dog. Not sure why I didn't rest my eyes too. Oh well. I will post a few pictures of her from the past week. I can't wait to see how she changes and developes. We know that she has Price's ears, my nose and mouth, and I think possibly Price's feet which is a shame cuz I do love my feet!! I attempted to give her a bath yesterday since the pediatrician said I should wash her hair. Not sure if that meant it looked dirty or if she wanted me to get her head damp because of the little mark on the back of it from the delivery. Needless to say, was a tricky one man job but we succeeded. Then her hair was totally wacky for the rest of the day. Oh well. She is doing great after her doc visit and everything looks perfect! This has started off as an amazing journey! Thanks to Sam and Elly for the shout outs on your blogs!!! Can't wait for them to meet Hadley.

One Week Down!

Chris and Alyssa and soon to be Baby Clopton came over( 8 days old), Family photo on Abby Bday (5days old), Kerry McCarthy visited me a few times (8 days old)

Hokie Game (6 days old), Skins Game (9 days old)

So we have survived our first week home with Hadley. Mom was here to help out from Sunday thru Thursday of this past week. We couldn't have done it without her help. THANKS MOM!! Dad was up and back a few times too to visit and he was good at supervising her on the couch and running out to pick us up food and beer when needed as well as open delicious bottles of wine. We celebrated my 31st bday on Wednesday with the whole Brown family. I was a bit tired and exhausted so was quite different from birthdays past. The first few nights were really tough but we are slowly settling into a routine that seems to be working. Our little lady seems to be quite the night owl from about 9-1am. I am watching a lot of late night TV. That is when she was really active while I was carrying her too. Doctors said it will take some time to get her off of that schedule. She had her first pediatrician apt last Monday and it went well. She lost the normal 10% of body weight so hoping when we go tomorrow she will have put some of that back on. She got all dressed up for her first Hokie game ( I was in labor during the last one) on Thursday night and she is all geared up for the Skins vs. Dallas game tonight. Our little lady should be used to Price yelling at the tv and being at the Skins games so she tolerates noise quite well. Soon we can get her a bit more girly outfits. We are making do right now with the gear we have. I thought her Redskins onesie would fit but its too big :( Maybe for the tail end of the season. THANK YOU TO ALL FOR THE FABULOUS GIFTS AND FLOWERS! I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!

She's Here!!!

Hadley Fields Booker made her arrival on the first day of my 39th week. She is our lucky little lady and was born in room 7, on November 7th and weighed in at 7lbs, 7oz. She arrived at 11:45 am. We went to hospital the night before at 10pm. Good news is we got to catch the 4th quarter of the VT game. Great distraction for contractions! Then, since we were awake all night, we got to watch the ENTIRE replay of the VT game at 3am. Good stuff! I am glad the Hokies could keep us sane. Once she made her appearance, we were all wiped, in fact, the most wiped we have ever been in our lives, not to mention I had not had dinner the night before so I was starving. Uncle Mel, Uncle Joe and all the Grandparents came to visit all of us in the hospital. She is a perfect little girl and was born with a full head of dark brown hair. So wild!! She has been wonderful! I can't really believe its all over. We got discharged yesterday November 9th. Things have been ok since we have been home, just lacking in sleep. My mom and dad are up and have been and helping us out. It has been a HUGE help. We had our first pediatrician apt. today and it went great. I am going to go get some rest and just post a few pictures for now, but promise to put more on later.

38 Weeks

Just a brief post about the latest happenings at the Booker household. Good news is that since the economy is so crappy, our new business is having its best month ever! Its going so great! Quiznos is still hanging in there as well.
Bad news is I was put on bed rest on Tuesday. I was 38 weeks pregnant yesterday so just two more weeks until my due date. My blood pressure (which most of you know was high and I was medicated prior to pregnancy) has corrected itself during this time but finally started to climb. I am and have been being seen in the high risk department at Johns Hopkins so they are taking extra precautions with me and put me on the rest. I did ask how strict this rest was and they told me I could go out to dinner once a week and just to avoid going up and down the stairs 700 times, which is hard in a little row house with 3 levels. They also want me laying around a lot on my left side. GOOD TIMES! Soon I might have a hole in my left hip! OH well, maybe she will make her appearance early so I won't have to do this for a full 2-3 weeks. Price and I decided to use our 1 dinner last night since it was Halloween and in the city Halloween brings on some cuties and some scaries, for real scaries. So...off to our favorite Thai restaurant. Its BYOB so Price brought the rest of a bottle of wine and enjoyed that. It was a nice evening. Just wanted to update the latest and greatest of the Booker happenings.
